Law and Your Life (Queens County)
A 4 session course that considers some of the various ways that law affects how you experience life. We discuss the steps involved in making a Will, Power of Attorney, and Health Care Directive. In doing so, we’ll look at related issues and address questions large and small, such as:
. What is a Will and why do I need one?
. How do I find a lawyer and do I need to know anything before a first meeting?
. What is medical assistance in dying (or MAiD) and why are people upset about it?
. If I give someone a Power of Attorney, what can that person do and when?
. What is the difference between a Health Care Directive and a Power of Attorney?
. If I’m talking about more than one Power of Attorney, is it proper to say Powers of Attorney, Power of Attorneys, or Powers of Attorneys?
